Dawn R. Throne

ESQ.

Dawn Throne is a family law attorney at Throne & Hauser Attorneys at Law, a private, independent firm formed ten years ago with business partner, Michelle A. Hauser. She is one of only 48 Certified Family Law Specialists in the state of Nevada and has provided representation in the Las Vegas and Henderson areas for over 23 years. Dawn has represented clients in all areas of family law, including divorce, child custody, relocation, child support, family law appeals, guardianship, estate planning and probate. She is our resident expert on TPOs (temporary protection orders) and knows how to get fair settlements for every client. With in-depth knowledge of the Nevada court system, she utilizes the best tactics to win cases in different forums and before different judges. Dawn has worked at all levels of family law, including making arguments before the entire Nevada Supreme Court.

Before founding the firm, she gained experience in a variety of areas, including limited civil litigation, business and commercial litigation, bankruptcy, employment law and probate, estate and trust litigation and medical malpractice defense. Ultimately, she was drawn to the personal nature of family law, working tirelessly to advocate for her clients’ best interests and helping them achieve positive outcomes. Life experience has only furthered Dawn’s passion for law. Not only has she represented hundreds of individuals in all areas of family law, she’s been there herself. She has gone through a divorce of her own, been in a long custody battle for her stepson and even taken on the challenge of raising teenagers.

Dawn has proven her passion to the Nevada legal community and works diligently to move the profession forward. She serves in various capacities, including as a Nevada State Bar Fee Dispute Arbitrator, Certified Family Law Specialist, Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board Member and Vice Chair of the Nevada Child Support Guidelines Committee. In addition, has contributed her expertise to the preparation of legal briefs and is a published author in legal manuals.

Previously, Dawn was appointed to serve as Pro Tem Child Support and Domestic Violence Hearing Master. She holds a BV® Distinguished™ Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Rating and has a reputation for thorough, rigorous and aggressive advocacy. In May 2001, Dawn completed the intensive American Bar Association’s Family Law Advocacy Institute in Houston, Texas, and has been recognized with the Clark County Pro Bono Project 100 Hours Club Award.

When she is not representing clients in their family law matter, Dawn spends her spare time with her daughter and husband and their three rescued fur babies, Elsa, Anna and Buster. She enjoys reading, traveling and church activities, but her true passion is for the law. For Dawn, family law is more than just a profession – it’s a calling.
